John Kosek, age 87 of Hartford, Wisconsin, passed away Friday, January 25, 2019, at Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau, WI. John was born December 7, 1931, in Hungary to Joseph and Theresia (nee Kuhn) Kosek. He was united in marriage to Theresia Guschlbauer on February 14, 1953, in Germany. John was a tailor for most of his life. He also enjoyed dancing, going camping, cooking soup, and playing cards. He is survived by his wife, Theresia; children, John Jr. (Nancy) of Hartford, Harry (Linda) of Sussex, Erich (Linda) of Richfield and Maryanne (Butch) Krist of Richfield; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; brother Anton (Elfriede) Kosek and sisters Theresia Demel and Maria Kosek and cousin Maria (Tony) Schall. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. John is preceded in death by his parents, son Erich I, and brothers Josef and George. Mass of Christian Burial for John was celebrated Thursday, January 31, 2019, at 12:00 noon at St. Kilian Catholic Church (264 W. State Street, Hartford, WI 53027) with Fr. David LaPlante officiating. Family greeted relatives and friends at the church on Thursday from 10:00am–11:45am. Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Southeastern Alzheimer’s Association (620 S. 76th Street #160, Milwaukee, WI 53214).
