Helen Elston (nee Wienke), age 92 of West Bend, formerly of Slinger, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019, at Cedar Community with her loving family by her side. Helen was born October 24, 1926, in Kenosha to Elsie (nee Schneider) and Franke Wienke. She was united in marriage to Ervin Elston on December 18, 1948. She enjoyed many summers with her husband Ervin fixing up Camp Chetek and fishing with him. Helen sold Avon products for over 40 years. She was active in her church, teaching bible studies in her home and Sunday School at First Baptist Church, Hartford. She and Ervin were charter members and she was the last living charter member. Helen is survived by her sons, Mark, Phil (friend, Kathy), Jeff Elston; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her sister, Emmaline Kinsella. She is further survived by loved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Helen is preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law; beloved husband Ervin; son Robert; brother Robert (Mary Ann) Wienke; and daughter-in-law, Jeanna Elston. Funeral services for Helen will be held on Tuesday, February 5, at 12 noon at First Baptist Church, 112 Church Street Hartford, with Pastor Michael Gordon officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 10:00am–12:00pm. Committal at Union Cemetery, Slinger.
